Artist Statement

“I want my work to hold a quiet presence — something felt before it is fully understood.”

LuAnn Ostergaard is a Pacific Northwest mixed-media artist with over 25 years of professional artistic practice. Her architecturally layered collage totems draw from landscape, mineral textures, and atmospheric light, forming vertical works that balance structure and luminosity.

Through a process that merges photography, surface layering, and hand-built elements, she creates work that feels both grounded and luminous. Each piece reflects a disciplined studio practice devoted to material integrity, restraint, and enduring presence.

Her work is held in over 970 private and corporate collections across more than 300 cities and eight countries. Working from her studio in Kennewick, Washington, LuAnn continues to refine a visual language rooted in quiet elevation, atmosphere, and contemplative depth.

In addition to her studio practice, LuAnn is an Usui Reiki Master and offers private sessions at Sunstone Gallery in downtown Kennewick, where her work with light continues beyond the visual into the energetic.
